You should go download iOS 9.3.3 right now

iOS 9.3.3 Update

iOS 10 might be stealing all the headlines, but if you’re a mere mortal you’re probably still running iOS 9.3.3. There’s no fancy new features or redesigned apps here, but there is something actually useful: bug fixes and performance improvements.

Updating any iOS device already running iOS 9 is painless: open the Settings app, go to General, Software Update, and you should see an option to download and install the latest version of iOS.

DON’T MISS: I really want a black iPhone 7 after seeing this photo

We’ve confirmed that the update is available on an iPhone running iOS 9.3.2 in the US already. To begin the update, you’ll need a Wi-Fi connection and a nearly-full battery, or to be plugged into a power source. Download times will vary depending on your connection, but the actual install should take about 10 minutes.

You shouldn’t get too attached to iOS 9, though, even if the latest update makes it usably fast. iOS 10 will be arriving in the fall for everyone with an iPhone 5 or better, and it’s a much more visible change. There’s a new and improved Music app, kinda-sorta widgets, and did I mention you can finally delete the Stocks app?
