One recent rumor suggested that Samsung will fix its Galaxy Note 7 problem by launching the Galaxy S8 earlier than anticipated. Such a move would help Samsung offset lost Galaxy Note 7 sales, and fight against the iPhone 7. Unfortunately for Samsung fans, multiple reports now suggest that won’t be the case — but there is some good news as well.

Twitter user @Ricciolo1, who often posts accurate details about unreleased devices on Twitter, said in a tweet that the Galaxy S8 would be unveiled on February 26th, 2017, one day before MWC 2017 kicks off in Barcelona, Spain. It’s too early for Samsung to send out any media invites, but the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 were both revealed at Unpacked keynotes preceding the same trade show.

A new report from The Korea Herald further reinforces that idea, saying that the Korean giant has no immediate plans to advance the launch of the phone, that usually comes in March every year.
“Samsung is making parts orders for the Galaxy S8. Several new, more expensive components are expected to be used,” an official told the site.
The Galaxy S8 is supposed to bring users several iPhone 7 and rumored iPhone 8 features, according to recent rumors. The Herald piles onto that notion, stating that the Galaxy S8 might ditch the home button just like the iPhone 8. Furthermore, the phone could feature a dual rear camera just like the iPhone 7 Plus.
“Samsung’s parts suppliers are already taking orders for the production of dual-lens cameras that greatly upgrade camera functions to match the quality of DSLR cameras,” the Herald says.
The dual camera seems to be firmed up by new trademark documents that Samsung filed in South Korea. According to GalaxyClub’s findings, Samsung wants to trademark “LightUp Camera” and “Light+ Camera.” Both cover a “camera Sensor for use in enhancing the brightness and clearness or digital images and photographs taken in low-light environments.”
Finally, the Galaxy S8 is expected to feature new chips, both built on 10nm process technology, including a next-gen Exynos processor and Qualcomm’s upcoming new Snapdragon 830.
