You would think that the most popular Airbnb rentals would be luxurious homes along beautiful beaches or penthouses located in the hearts of the world’s greatest cities. However, it turns out you’d be wrong: The hottest Airbnb rental is actually a tiny cabin located in the woods of Northern California.

The cabin itself has a unique design that is topped by a geodesic dome that also serves as a loft where you sleep. Here’s a look at the interior, which seems very cozy and even includes space for a dresser and a nightstand:
It’s also got terrific lighting from the top of the dome:
And it has a pretty spacious deck with a lovely view of the wilderness:
This is a really cool place to rent but I’m still a little amazed that it’s so in demand. According to its listing, “you will need to make your reservation request about 5 – 6 months in advance,” which means that if you book now you likely wouldn’t be able to stay in it until September at the earliest. The cabin costs $115 per night to rent for up to two people and it requires a $100 security deposit and a $30 cleaning fee.
At any rate, if you want to learn more about this unique location, you should check out The Guardian’s interview with owner Kitty Mrache, who explains that she was positively blown away by demand for the cabin when she first listed it on Airbnb. Check out the full Airbnb listing at this link.
