eWeek is reporting that Verizon Wireless told executive IT managers that they plan to launch LTE in 30 “NFL cities” by the end of 2010. The quote came from Verizon senior federal sales executive Bernie McMonagle. The executive did not detail which specific cities would be getting Verizon’s 4G service, but he did reiterate that they would be major metropolitan areas and that his company would have the entire country covered in LTE by 2013. Unfortunately, McMonagle also said that LTE smartphones, due to there scarcity, would not be launched in conjunction with the thirty city rollout.
