Tesla is known for delivering cars that have crazy acceleration, but it’s newest upgrade to the Model S P85D is positively ludicrous. Tesla on Friday announced an upgrade to its Model S car that will give it a range of 300 miles per charge and let it accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a “ludicrous” 2.8 seconds. In fact, this acceleration is so impressive that Tesla is literally calling it “Ludicrous Mode.”

The upgrade will cost $10,000 and will deliver a 10% improvement in acceleration that will let it drive a quarter of a mile in just 10.8 seconds. Interestingly, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the upcoming Model X vehicle will also have option for “Ludicrous Mode,” although because that vehicle is larger it will go from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, which is still crazy for what will be a three-row SUV.

The company also made more two more announcements Friday. The first is for an upgraded battery pack with 90-kWh that will sell for $3,000 while the second is a 70-kWh single motor that will sell for $70,000.
