Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a new and improved Beats Music service, and the impact could be felt throughout the industry. In fact, there have been rumblings for months now that Apple is trying to convince music labels to eliminate the free streaming tier on services like Spotify.

It indeed feels as though we’re on the cusp of some serious change in the streaming music market, but Spotify is apparently going to do everything it can to attract new business before Apple unveils its revamped streaming service next month. And to help move things along, the company is now offering a killer deal.

DON’T MISS: iPhone 6 is a huge problem for Android

Spotify’s free streaming service is terrific, but there are definitely some huge compromises compared to the premium tier. For one thing, the ads are terribly annoying. For another, you can’t listen to music on demand on mobile devices with the free streaming service.

For new customers or free users who have never tried Spotify’s premium tier before, the company is offering a huge 97% discount for the first three months of premium service. That means that for just $0.99, you can enjoy three full months of premium Spotify service. After that, you’ll be bumped up to the normal $9.99 monthly rate.

Even if you’ve never considered using Spotify premium before, this deal could be too good to pass up. And perhaps the best part is the fact that Apple will likely have announced details surrounding its new Beats Music service long before the three-month period ends, so you’ll be able to jump ship if Apple’s new service sounds appealing.
