A Samsung executive recently said his company has high hopes that it will beat its original 2011 smartphone sales estimates. The South Korea-based phone maker has already stated that the Galaxy S II is its fastest selling smartphone family ever, having sold 3 million units in just 55 days. Additionally, Samsung announced in October that it has sold 30 million Galaxy S and Galaxy S II units globally. The company recently launched a number of new Galaxy family members, including the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus and a 4G LTE-equipped Galaxy S II. “We are pinning high hopes… on achieving sales higher than our previous plan,” an unnamed Samsung executive said recently during a launch for the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE in Seoul. The Samsung executive did not disclose exactly how many smartphones Samsung hopes to sell.
