Google has started sending out Project Fi invites to some of the users who applied to get one, a happy customer revealed on Reddit. Google’s wireless carrier initiative was officially unveiled a few weeks ago, with the company setting up a special registration page where interested subscribers could sign up for invites.
DON’T MISS: Days after its demise, Grooveshark is back
Reddit user idreamincode posted a variety of screenshots that show the entire setup project for Project Fi, once the invitation arrives.
The images reveal that Project Fi users will have their Google Voice number transferred to Project Fi (if they so desire), but many aspects of Google Voice will be moved automatically to Project Fi, including the available Google Voice credit.
On top of that, you get to choose how much you want to pay each month for Project Fi. The basic plan starts at $20, including unlimited U.S. calls and texts, unlimited international texting in the U.S. and more than 120 countries and live support. On top of that you’ll have to add data plan to your Project Fi account, priced at $10 for 1GB. The images reveal that Google offers credit for unused data, full-speed in the U.S. even for tethering, and “still $10/GB in 120+ countries.”
Finally, you can also purchase a Nexus 6 during the set up process, which is the only device currently supported on Project Fi. You can choose color, memory capacity and payment method – Google will let you pay for the handset over time if you so desire.
