Android fans, this is the phone you’ve been waiting for.

Last year’s Nexus 6 was and is a terrific phone, but so many people complained that it was too big to use comfortably. Not everyone wants a phablet, after all. So this year, Google is taking a page out of Samsung and Apple’s playbook and offering two distinct flagship phones, one with a smaller screen and one that’s phablet sized.

So what can we expect from the new Nexus 5X?

As Google announced on stage during its big press conference in San Francisco, the Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch LCD display with full HD resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 424 ppi. A 2GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor powers the phone, and it’s complemented by 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The phone will be available with either 16GB or 32GB of storage.

Other spec highlights include a 12.3-megapixel rear camera an f/2.0 aperture and laser-assisted focus, a 5-megapixel front facing camera, a fingerprint scanner, a Micro USB Type-C port and a 2,700 mAh battery. Of course, the phone will also ship running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Google’s new Nexus 5X will start at $379 with no contract and a free $50 Play Store credit, which is indeed the incredible value we were expecting. The phone will be available for preorder beginning today from the Google Play store, and shipments will begin sometime in October.
