If you were thinking of purchasing a new computer this week, it might be worth waiting a few more days to see what Apple plans to introduce. Over the weekend, several 15-inch MacBook Pro models were discontinued on Apple’s website, potentially indicating that the company is clearing the way for new MacBook Pro models with Force Touch trackpads.

On Monday, French Apple blog Mac Generation reported that Apple is going to put a new 15-inch MacBook Pro and a 27-inch iMac on sale this Wednesday. The sources that leaked this information have a good track record, and considering the fact that Apple is currently clearing out old stock, it wouldn’t come as much of a shock.
It’s worth noting that, providing the rumor is true, this will be the first 15-inch MacBook Pro to come equipped with a Force Touch trackpad, a feature which was added to the 13-inch model earlier this year.
As for the internal specifications of the new computers, Mac Generation has “no further details,” but the refreshed MacBook Pro models are expected to be fitted with Intel’s Broadwell processors. The power boost under the hood could give the new laptops better battery life.
Again, these rumors are unconfirmed, but the clues have begun to add up. We’ll find out for sure on Wednesday.
