November is going to be a busy month for Apple. In addition to the typical brouhaha associated with the buildup to Black Friday, the company will have two brand new products in stores; the Apple TV and the iPad Pro. With respect to the former, consumers can already pick up Apple’s new set-top box from Apple retail stores and from Best Buy. With respect to the latter, we finally have a release date for Apple’s gargantuan tablet — November 11.

The iPad Pro’s release date comes to us via Mark Gurman over at 9to5Mac who has a rather flawless track record when it comes to Apple rumors. Previously, Apple only alluded to a November launch window without providing any specific details as to when it might show up in stores.

Apple will be positioning the iPad Pro as a premium device, which is to say that it won’t come cheap. The upcoming tablet starts at $799 and, depending on the configuration, can reach as high as $1079 if you want LTE support and as much storage as you can get. While clearly more expensive than anything else in Apple’s iPad lineup, the iPad Pro does bring some unique features to the table. For starters, it comes with a monstrous 12.9-inch display. And second, it supports an intriguing stylus accessory called the Apple Pencil (available as a separate $99 purchase) which has already garnered universally positive reviews.

With iPad sales down 20% year over year, it’ll be interesting to see if the iPad Pro can inject some much-needed life into a product line that has been faltering for nearly two years now. As we detailed earlier this week, Apple’s new tablet might very well be the company’s last real chance to save the iPad from unceremoniously fading away into the realm of irrelevancy.
