Though Google’s (GOOG) rumored hardware partner denied earlier claims to the same effect, the Android maker is once again said to be prepping a dirt-cheap $99 Nexus tablet that will launch ahead of the holidays this year. Digitimes, the source of the prior report, is once again making the claim, adding additional details that were not previously available. According to the site’s unnamed supply chain sources, Google’s $99 Nexus tablet is indeed being designed by ASUS and it will feature a single-core ARM processor built by WonderMedia Technologies along with a display panel from HannStar Display. Quanta will reportedly assemble the slate. If the device is real, it will likely pose the most serious threat to Apple’s (AAPL) iPad mini, which will be unveiled during a press conference on October 23rd.
