Remember that Digg revolt a couple of weeks back? In case you’ve forgotten, an AACS crack was posted on the internet ranking site. Digg removed the key, citing legal concerns, and immediately experienced a reader revolt, the likes of which the internet has never seen. Digg relented, allowing for the key to posted, and everyone went on about their business. Almost everyone, that is. The Hi-Def media industry went on full alert, quickly developing a new encryption code, once again locking out users from copying/region stripping their HD-DVD’s and Blu-ray discs. Score one for the hackers, as the crack code has popped up once again. Nice job guys. A couple of posts containing the code have already begun to surface on Digg, as well as other popular web sites. As the code proliferates, and companies attempt to squash its dissemination once again, it will be interesting to see how the web responds.
