Created by brothers Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, Stranger Things is set in 1983 and follows the denizens of Hawkins, Indiana as they try to figure out why a young boy named Will Byers vanished into thin air. Reviews for the first season have been consistently positive, praising the show for its nostalgic bent and the warmth with which it treats its characters. Vanity Fair says it’s “assured, inventive, satisfying, and compulsively watchable,” while AV Club goes so far as to call it “2016’s show of the summer.”
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, watching Stranger Things might not be a bad idea. All eight episodes will be available to stream on Netflix starting this Friday, July 15th.
