It seems like airlines like to nickel-and-dime you for everything these days, which is why you shouldn’t feel guilty about milking your flight for all it’s worth. Business Insider has done a terrific job of putting together a list of free things that you can get on many airlines and some of these freebies are things that I never expected. Basically, if you think that you always have to pay for beer and wine on your flight, you’re about to be pleasantly surprised.

“Alaska Airlines for example serves free beers on some of its routes; US Airways gives out free wine with dinner on international flights; Delta offers complimentary wine, beer, and spirits on international flights; and Lufthansa has a whole menu of complimentary alcoholic beverages on all of its flights,” Business Insider notes. “Typically, this tends to be the case with long-haul and international flights.”
Free booze isn’t the only thing you can get on long flights, either: It turns out a lot of airlines offer free grooming kits to help you spruce up before you depart, as well as sanitizing wipes that can help you wipe off the general filth you accumulate while you’re on a plane for several hours.
And yes, you can usually get an entire can of soda instead of just the small little portion flight attendants pour for you into a tiny cup.
