Google’s annual I/O Developers Conference is just around the corner and expectations are at an all-time high. In the past, the company has unveiled a number of flagship projects and devices at the event, such as Google Music, Google Now and the Nexus 7 tablet. Earlier rumors have suggested that, among other things, Google would announce a followup to its Nexus 4 smartphone and even the rumored Motorola X Phone at this year’s event, but a new report suggests this may not be the case.
According to a recent post from Australian website Sidhtech, Google will not showcase the Nexus 5 or Motorola X Phone at this year’s I/O event. The company will instead reportedly show off an updated Nexus 4 smartphone with both CDMA and LTE radios that will be compatible with Sprint and Verizon’s networks, among other announcements. The device is also said to be equipped with 32GB of internal storage, compared to the 8GB and 16GB models currently available.
The Nexus 4 features a 4.7-inch 720p display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and an 8-megapixel camera. The smartphone, which was announced last fall, also includes 2GB of RAM, NFC, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and the latest version of Android.
Google I/O is scheduled to take place in San Francisco from May 15th to May 17th.
