With the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar finally shipping, Apple earlier today rolled out a new commercial for its nex-gen notebook. Titled “Bulbs”, the ad takes us on a gripping trip back in time as we see a steady stream of some of the most important human inventions throughout history, from the discovery of fire and the invention of the wheel to space travel and advanced robotics.

The ad, which apparently sets out to position the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar as a revolutionary new input method, concludes by stating that “Ideas push the world forward” while adding that the Touch Bar will be a “tool for all the ideas to come.”

Now that’s some grandiose marketing even for Apple, but what can we say, that ad is still pretty well done even though no one would really dare place Apple’s new MacBook Pro in the same company as any of the inventions and breakthroughs referenced throughout the commercial.
