While you were fast asleep last night — or early this morning, as it were — Acer was busy in Berlin, Germany announcing not one, not five, but 18 different products ahead of the annual IFA 2016 trade show. IFA has always been focused on computing and if it’s computing you want, Acer has certainly got you covered. The company’s announcements covered everything from sleek new ultra-portable laptops and hardcore gaming notebooks to smartphones, monitors and even an ultra-mini desktop PC.
Highlights from Acer’s big IFA press conference include the Predator 21 X, a monster gaming laptop with a massive 21-inch curved display; the Chromebook R 13, a sleek new 13-inch convertible Chromebook with a touchscreen display; and the Swift 7, an aluminum Windows 10 laptop with a ridiculously thin case that’s less than 10mm thick.

- Predator gaming monitors and notebooks:
–Predator Z271T/XB251HQT/XB271HUT: These monitors are the world’s first to include eye tracking technology. With the new technology users can upgrade their gaming experience. By tracking a gamer’s eye with software, the monitors introduce new interactions like aiming, identifying enemies and taking cover simply by gazing at objects on the screen.
–Predator 21 X: Acer’s new Predator 21 X is the world’s first notebook with a curved screen. It also integrates eye tracking technology for an even more immersive user experience. It features the latest 7th Generation Intel Core processors, 5 cooling fans and dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI for unmatched graphics performance.
–Predator 15 and Predator 17: Designed for those with a need for speed, the Predator 17 and Predator 15 received updates with the latest GPUs featuring NVIDIA GTX 10-Series graphics cards, enabling them to be ready for Virtual Reality.
- Swift ultra-thin notebooks
From the ultra-thin black and gold Swift 7 to the budget-friendly Swift 1, Acer’s new ultra-slim notebooks provide both elegant and practical solutions for everyone. The Swift 7 is just 0.39 inches thin and weighs a mere 2.48 pounds. Models in the Swift 5 and Swift 3 Series include premium features such as metal chassis, 7th Generation Intel Core Processors, Solid State Drives, USB 3.1 Type-C ports, fingerprint scanners and more.
- Spin convertible notebooks
From ultra-thin convertible notebook, the elegant Spin 7, to the student friendly Spin 1, Acer’s new convertible notebooks are ideal for work and play. Featuring a 14-inch display in a 13-inch chassis, the Spin 7’s all aluminum unibody is just 0.43 inches thin and weighs 2.6 pounds. Models in the small and compact Spin 5 Series include 13.3-inch displays and can be used with an optional Acer Active Pen and Microsoft Windows Ink; the Spin 3 includes 15.6-inch displays and dual storage support; while the Spin 1 Series includes 13.3-inch and 11.6-inch displays options, and are ideal for students or as a 2nd computer.
- Chromebook R 13
The new Chromebook R 13 is the industry’s first convertible Chromebook with a 13.3-inch touchscreen display. It has a flexible design that can be used in nearly any position including as a tablet thanks to its 360-degree hinges. It provides up to 12 hours of battery life and will provide additional capabilities thanks to planned support for Android apps via the Google Play Store later this year.
- Revo Base Mini PC
Acer Revo Base, the latest member of the award-winning Revo family, encapsulates surprisingly powerful performance into a compact 1-liter chassis. It features up to Intel® Core™ i7 processors and up to 8GB DDR3L memory to ensure it runs smoothly when handling intensive tasks such as decoding top-quality multimedia content.
