Diehard superhero movie fans have likely already seen Captain America: Civil War, and they’re looking forward to the next big thing. Thankfully, X-Men: Apocalypse is just a few weeks away, which means it’s time to get excited about this new mutant adventure, event though not all critics are thrilled with this new X-Men movie. The new flick brings us one of the most powerful villains the X-Men have ever had to face — but don’t worry, X-Men: Apocalypse isn’t the last movie in the saga.
That’s right, the new X-Men movie has teasers for the next chapter in the post-credits scenes.
We don’t yet know the exact sequences that will be included after the credits, but we do know two things. One is the mere presence of the scenes in X-Men: Apocalypse, so don’t hurry out of the theater the minute the credits start rolling. And second, the credits give a nod not only to Wolverine 3, but also to a new character who is introduced in this movie and who could appear in a new films down the road.
“It’s a nod toward potentially a lot of different movies,” writer/producer Simon Kinberg told Collider. “I mean certainly the Wolverine movie is related to what happens at the end of it, but there’s also another character that’s introduced, at least in name, in the tag, and he could show up in any host of different X-Men films. Maybe a Gambit movie, maybe another X-Men movie.”
Which character might be introduced during the post-credits scenes of X-Men: Apocalypse? May 27th can’t come soon enough.
