Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge figure to be 2016’s first two major flagship phones and a leaked list of specifications posted on Reddit indicates that the S7 edge is going to be a bit bigger than last year’s model. Redditor mobileleaks has posted a screenshot that appears to be from the Galaxy S7 edge that shows the device will have display of 5.7 inches, which would represent a significant step up from the S6 edge’s 5.1-inch display.

Here is the leaked image that purportedly shows the S7 edge’s display:
Other specs revealed in the leak include a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of base storage, a 12.2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The camera resolution here might raise some eyebrows since the original S6 edge had a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. However, we’ve seen repeatedly that megapixel counts don’t necessarily make a camera great and Samsung has shown that it makes absolutely fantastic smartphone cameras that take beautiful pictures. If Samsung really has lowered the resolution for the S7 edge’s camera, I wouldn’t expect it to significantly reduce the device’s camera quality compared to the S6 edge.
These specs are still rumors, of course, so we wouldn’t put too much stock into them until more sources confirm them. That said, they do seem pretty much in line with expectations.
