Microsoft made a splash during its Tuesday Windows 10 hardware event, as the company unveiled several interesting products, including its first Windows 10 Lumia handsets and also a new family of 2-in-1 laptop/tablets, including the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book.

During the event, Microsoft targeted Apple with several barbs, but also acknowledged that the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are terrific computers, adding that the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book will beat their respective counterparts from Apple when it comes to performance.

“Ounce-for-ounce the [Surface Book is the ] fastest 13-inch laptop ever made,” Panos Panay said on stage while adding that the new Surface Book is “two times faster than the MacBook Pro.” The following specs comparison pits the Surface Book against its 2015 MacBook Pro equivalent.
