The funniest thing you’ll see today: San Andreas without special effects

After being featured in the latest entry of one of the most successful action franchises in history earlier this year, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson decided to shift gears and star in a movie packed with so much destruction that even Furious 7 couldn’t keep up. San Andreas is that movie, and although critics haven’t been kind, fans of CG eye candy should still be entertained.

But what happens when you strip away the special effects? What does a movie like San Andreas looks like before the editors get a hold of it? We no longer have to wonder, as Gizmodo managed to get its hands on behind-the-scenes B-roll footage that accomplishes two things:

  1. Makes it clear that there were plenty of impressive practical stunts alongside the CGI spectacle.
  2. Gives us something to laugh at on a slow, rainy Monday.

It’s not quite Mad Max: Fury Road, but it is pretty awesome to see actors doing their own stunts. Watch the full video below:
