Starting today, PS4, PS3 and Xperia smartphone and tablet owners will have access to Spotify through the new PlayStation Music app. PlayStation Music will replace the outmoded Music Unlimited service, giving Sony device owners access to Spotify’s 30 million songs and 1.5 billion playlists.

Once PlayStation Music goes live on Monday, PlayStation Network users will be able to link their accounts with Spotify and subscribe to the Premium subscription service for $9.99 a month. There are also a few offers in place if you want to try before you buy:

  • Music Unlimited subscribers with accounts active as of March 29, 2015, can receive 2 months of free access to Spotify Premium
  • New and existing Spotify users who have not previously received a trial of Spotify Premium can receive one month free

If you prefer not to control your music with a game controller, you’ll be able to use the official Spotify Connect app for Android and iOS to skip songs, adjust the volume and select a playlist. Sony plans to bring more exclusive features to the app in the future.
