There are plenty of Android smartphones that can go toe-to-toe with the iPhone but there still seems to be something missing when it comes to Android tablets. If you need further proof of this, consider that the excellent Android-focussed website Android Police has just put out its holiday gift guide… and writer David Ruddock recommends the iPad Air 2 as the best tablet to buy.

Why is Ruddock fond of the iPad Air 2 over the many other Android tablets out there? In the first place, he found himself quite disappointed with the Nexus 9 tablet and couldn’t bring himself to recommend it. Second, he just thinks that the iPad Air 2 is a fantastic device that he believes only Samsung’s Tab S series can really match.

“The Air 2 is reliable, predictable, and very fast,” he writes. “iOS still has some tablet experience apps lacking Android equivalents, too, and while Android tablets do have some advantages (like a better Gmail app BY FAR), the iPad remains a no-brainer for me. If it’s my money being spent on a tablet, I’m going to buy the one I know is going to live up to a standard of quality – the iPad has been the gold standard in tablets since it was unveiled, and that hasn’t changed. I don’t see it changing any time soon, either.”

Android Police’s whole gift guide is worth reading and, for the record, some Android Police writers do have some Android tablets to recommend to holiday buyers. Check it out at the source link below.
