You might want to temper your expectations for the first Star Wars spinoff film.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is still scheduled to release on December 16th, but sources tell Page Six that the highly anticipated spinoff will require expensive reshoots over the summer as the film isn’t shaping up nearly as well as Disney had expected.

DON’T MISS: Game of Thrones is falling apart

“The execs at Disney are not happy with the movie, and Rogue One will have to go back into four weeks of expensive reshoots in July,” one source told Page Six.

There’s still a great deal we don’t know about Rogue One, but what we do know is that the film will revolve around a group of resistance fighters embarking on a mission to steal the Empire’s plans for the Death Star. Felicity Jones will star as Jyn Erso, with Darth Vader and a young Han Solo expected to appear as well.

A seemingly unrelated piece of news dropped earlier this month when it was revealed that Edwards would not direct the sequel to 2014’s Godzilla in order to “focus on smaller films,” but another source tells Page Six that Rogue One falling short of Disney’s lofty expectations might have played a part in his decision.

Disney won’t take a back seat, and is demanding changes, as the movie isn’t testing well,” the source added.

Finally, a Disney source provides a less concerning version of events:

“The filmmaking team and the studio always anticipated additional shooting and second unit work to make the film the absolute best it can be, and the actors were aware there would be additional shooting. Coming off The Force Awakens, there’s an incredibly high bar for this movie and we have a responsibility to the franchise and to the fans to deliver the best possible movie we can.”

We’ll have to wait until December 16th to see how Rogue One turned out.
