Late on Sunday, the hotly anticipated trailer from the Aaron Sorkin penned Steve Jobs biopic premiered online. While the trailer itself is somewhat subdued, it provides our first glimpse at Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogan who assume the roles of Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, respectively.

Due to Sorkin’s penchant for delivering incredible stories with memorable dialogue (his past works include A Few Good Men, The Social Network, and The West Wing), there’s been a tremendous amount of interest in the second attempt at a Jobs biopic, the first, of course, being the largely panned Ashton Kutcher movie titled Jobs.

What’s interesting about the film is that Sorkin never envisioned it as a traditional cradle to grave biopic. Instead, Sorkin’s take on Jobs’ life will consist solely of three 30-minute scenes, each of which take will place backstage before one of Jobs’  major product announcements.

“This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time,” Sorkin said in an interview a few years back.

As for the product announcements in question, the movie will focus on Jobs backstage before he introduces the original Mac, the NeXT Cube, and the iPod.

In addition to Fassbender and Rogan, the film stars Kate Winslet, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston, and Michael Stuhlbarg. Directed by Danny Boyle, the film will hit theaters on October 9.

Incidentally, the trailer for the film made its broadcast TV debut during Sunday night’s Mad Men finale.
