The Android Wear-based LG G Watch will be released later this summer, and LG France has apparently confirmed availability dates for the country to local online publication Les Numeriques. According to the company, its first smartwatch will retail for €199 in the region, launching at some point in June – however a firm launch date has not yet been revealed.

It appears that in Europe, the G Watch will be €100 cheaper than one of its main adversaries, the new Samsung Gear 2, but on par with the cheaper Gear 2 Neo. A previous report revealed the device could cost £180 in the U.K., which is what the Gear 2 Neo also costs in the country. Thus, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the G Watch priced at $199 in the U.S. when it launches later this year.

The smartwatch will apparently feature a 1.65-inch screen, 4GB of internal memory and run Google’s wearable optimized Android version. The G Watch will be available initially in Stealth Black and Champagne Gold, according to information already posted on the company’s website.

Interestingly, LG has confirmed that its G3 flagship device will be launched by the end of May, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the South Korean giant unveil both the new smartphone and smartwatch during a future media event.
