Nokia beats Google to filling iOS mapping gap, launches free HERE Maps app for iPhone and iPad

While iOS users wait with bated breath for Google (GOOG) to launch its new Google Maps app for iOS, Nokia (NOK) has seized an opportunity and beaten Google to the punch. Now available for free on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Nokia’s HERE Maps app for iOS brings Nokia’s renowned Navteq-powered mapping solution to millions of Apple (AAPL) devices running iOS 4.3 or later. Key features include live traffic information, public transportation data, voice-guided walking navigation and plenty more.
