Sprint’s iPhone 4S launch details revealed

Exclusive

We’ve got the run-down on how exactly Sprint is going to launch its first ever Apple product, and it seems pretty intense. Then again, with Apple involved, would you expect anything else? Here’s what’s going to happen… Apple, or an independent contractor, not Sprint, will be coming to all corporate retail locations to set up the iPhone 4S displays in the next few days, most likely Thursday. We’re told that Apple and the company’s team gets to choose where the iPhone 4S displays will go in each store, not Sprint. More after the break.

After the displays are installed, it seems that the stores will close for the rest of the day to give the locations time to prepare for Friday’s launch. We are told iPhone 4S devices will be shipped overnight to retail store locations on Wednesday, and all employees are under strict orders to not open any of the iPhone boxes or related materials. In fact, Sprint has communicated to employees that Apple’s team will be there on Thursday, and if any boxes are tampered with or opened, employees “will be fired immediately and walked out of the store.”

Sprint will start selling the iPhone 4S alongside AT&T and Verizon Wireless starting this Friday at 7:00 a.m. local time.

Man, Apple can really douche it up. Fired, for opening a box? Really? But they have the big stick(iPhone), and everybody wants a piece. Could you imagine if Sammy or LG tried to pull that sh*t?

When LG or Sammy sells 1 million phones on preorder alone then they can dictate how their phones are sold.

      Curiosity got the cat fired.

Why are you people still acting like this is a true story?  BGR has zero credibility now.  I just come here for a few laughs in the posts.

This company truly amazes me. You would think they have the secrets to the watergate scandal or who killed kennedy, hell even the truth about if aliens really do exist. But at the end of the day, its nothing but a medicore, 3.5 inch touchscreen PHONE!! Get a F’n grip Crapple.

This type of stuff is what turned me away from Apple… and in the process discovered a better home (Android) I think they are just too much, it is just a phone for goodness sake!

“Fired on the spot…” HA.   I’m so glad I’m a Union member.  Can’t say the same for Sprint employees.

Jealous fandroids are getting restless and running amuck since Apple announced 1M+ pre-order units. Now they will counter with 600K Android activations per day. But wait…one prominent survey company outed Android that about half of the units activated were being returned (but for clever reasons, they don’t subtract the returns from the actual units sold to skew the market share numbers). And why so many returns? To be honest I couldn’t care less.

    LOL!!!

      I don’t think anybody is jealous…

“Fire immediately?” Really? You mean to tell me one open box and an entire Sprint store is FIRED? Then who’d sell the fucking phone? This Apple nonsense, bullshit (more than likely made up) is what gives Apple such a bad name.

  • You Mom

who cares, its a 3g phone on sprint and verizon!  1mb per second, att 3g is already 3 times faster and now is HSPa+ making it more then 10 times faster on ATT.  Sprint can shove it along with their shitting service!

What time does the Gestapo arrive at the Sprint stores?

The top-down authoritarian style of Apple is somewhat troubling. They won’t let Sprint setup the iPhone displays in their own stores? They won’t let employees – who are expected to sell and support this product – access to the product while it is initially shipped?? Threats of being fired??? I don’t care how slick the iPhone is, I’ll never be buying one again. Its more like the iDictatorship.

Ugh, so many people complaining about slow 3G on Sprint. I personally think it is pretty quick. Also, don’t most people connect to WiFi nowadays? Geezus.
