T-Mobile announces HTC Amaze 4G, Samsung Galaxy S II and Sonic 4G Mobile Hotspot

Breaking

Moments ago, T-Mobile took the wraps off three new devices. The newly introduced HTC Amaze 4G (pictured above) and Samsung Galaxy S II are the first smartphones, T-Mobile tells us, that will take advantage of the carrier’s blazing fast HSPA+ network with 42Mbps speeds. The Amaze 4G features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a rear illuminated sensor for night shots, a 4.3-inch qHD Super LCD screen, NFC support and the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS. Hit the break for more.

T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S II (pictured above) packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 1.5GHz dual-core chip, a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, NFC and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. T-Mobile also introduced a brand new portable mobile broadband access point dubbed the Sonic 4G Mobile HotSpot (pictured below), which harnesses all 42 theoretical megabits-per-second and serves them up to you over Wi-Fi with support for up to five devices. The Huawei-manufactured device features an OLED external display in addition to an SD card slot for file sharing.

The HTC Amaze 4G and Samsung Galaxy S II are slated to become available online on October 10th and in stores on October 12th for $259.99 after $50 mail-in-rebate and $229.99 after $50 mail-in-rebate, respectively. The Sonic 4G hotspot will also be launch in October.

No wonder TMobile didnt want anybody taking a look at the SGSII a few weeks ago… because of that processor.

T-Mobile wanted the Qualcomm chipset, because it supports HSPA+ 42, whereas the Equinox doesnt.

my best friend’s mom makes 77 USD an hour on the computer. she has been out of job for 9 months but last month her check was 7487 USD just working on the computer for a few hours. read about it and get started following the first step “Online Income Solution” , here flaturl.com/e3

It’s 1.5 GHz vs 1.2 GHz whether Snapdragon or Exynos.  Still better than many other phones on the market.  From what I hear 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon is extremely smooth and fast and of couse plays well with the closet thing we have to LTE.. that is HSPA + 42 Mbps.

Nice!!! I’m liking Samsung more and more since getting my G-Tab! And, these devices are sure to blow the iPhone tAmpons right where they belong; the iGarbage can!

    • Anonymous

The fact that you have to compare it to the iPhone already make you a fail. But yeah iPhone 5 will destroy… everything. (Bold 9900 User)

      • Anonymous

        Really! I didn’t know that. What’s the iPhone 5?

      • Anonymous

If you read carefully (or knew how), you would realize that I did not make any comparison (since, there really isn’t one to make), I wrote that the iPhone tAmpons will be blown right into the iGarbage can (right where it belongs). Don’t they have decent schools out there; you must be out of the various “Hamptons” school districts?

      • Drew

iPhone 5, what’s that?? No really…what is it because no one has seen it and yet it’s suppose to destroy everything??

You can’t afford Apple products. That’s your problem not ours.

LONG LIVE TMOBILE & SPRINT. FK VERIZON AND AT&T.

Once you graduate college and get a job somewhere other than McDonalds, you can step up to a real carrier.

      • Anonymous

Odd statement… I actually just graduated my Masters last year.

I learned at college that SAVING money is smart. Especially since that savings between my 5 lines( All data ) is around 80$ a month after taxes.

Sorry I wasn’t taught to be a dumb consumer in my KOLLEDGHEE?

Oh and service? Type in zip code: 26505. Verizon? Roaming. At&t 3G. Sprint Full 3G never dropped a thing. Best coverage I could ask for, I dont need hour battery lasting 4G gimmicks just yet– Ill wait for the tweaks to get worked in first. Then type in my coverage also in Manhattan? Oh never dropped a call their either. AT&T iPhone? Laughable.

Well, I think you failed because you obviously didn’t learn to write English. Was your diploma printed on carbon paper? And, did you print copies for your friends (to use)?

      • Anonymous

Your grammar is atrocious. Are you sure you graduated? Mail order degree doesn’t count.

Im on a blog, excuse me for not caring.

Now if we could just get all the Apple news condensed into one small article like this, you might be on to something…

Why are they calling it the Galaxy S II? Theres a freaking Snapdragon inside. Not an Exynos. Not a Galaxy S II. The Magenta T hurts my head daily.

    • Obodie27

Ugggh..same os with touchwiz on top..same super amoled plus screen..stfu bout a processor that would’ve had the phone running on a slower network…try complaining bout lack of an HD screen when the HD screens all coming next month…dumb ass

      • http://twitter.com/fucksarcasm Trill.

What are you talking about? The processor MAKES THE PHONE. Without a Tegra 2, the G2x wouldnt be the G2- You know what? Nevermind. You MUST be new here.

Who cares about the network speed when youre getting capped at 2GB, anyway. And you’ll NEVER see 42MB/s anyway. So why does that even matter?

      • Wirelessmodz

im not capped @ 2 gb i get hit with the throttle @ 5gb and that usually on is for aday maybe 2 before my cycle starts over

      • GinaDee

So all previous Galaxy S devices that didn’t have the NEW Exynos CPU somehow aren’t really GS devices according to your logic?

Apparently you have never owned, used or reviewed a real 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor on a Galaxy S device so your comments are null and void even before you spewed out your written diarrhea on this site.

BTW:  You’ll never see any theoretical speed on any smartphone currently released so why that comment found a place in your dialogue is beyond me?

      • Anonymous

T-Mobile has data plans that give you as much as 10GB of full speed in a given month.  You get to pick the tier you are throttled at.  Are you really going to use over 10GB of 4G in a month… on your phone???  The 2GB throttle is only the cheapest ‘unlimited’ data plan.  Get your facts straight.

T-Mobile wanted the Qualcomm chipset, because it supports HSPA+ 42, whereas the Exynos doesn’t.

Both of these phones seem great, but I’m still not sure whether or not I should spend all that money buying one of them, especially with this AT&T merger/takeover looming.

  • http://www.droiddoes.com/ Norm

Too bad these are on tmobile.

    • Anonymous

The DROID OS is open and free. These phones will run LTE on any network because of it.

      • Anonymous

        True!

    • NormSucks

Norm….Every comment you post is trollish. You a value in your posts. Please go play in traffic.

      • NormSucks

Meant to say you add zero value in your posts. Damn I-phone auto correct

      • http://www.droiddoes.com/ Norm

you have an iphone lol no wonder you cant type.  you are too dumb to use a real smartphone, let alone communicate in a clear and concise manner

Google chose T-Mobile for the first ever android phone because they couldn’t make it work with carriers like Verizon.  They also chose T-Mobile for the release of their own very first phone the Nexus One.  T-Mobile has the FASTEST internet service available on your phone in America that’s available in the most PLACES.  Plus they allow for innovating things like extending their network to anywhere you can get a wifi signal.   ….and best of all they are cheaper than at&t, verizon, and sprint, those guys are a rip off. T-Mobile is awesome.

  • Girlgenius

Wish T-Mobile would get rid of MIR’s.

Bet you in a month these will be way cheaper on Amazon or Wirefly.. or even sooner when the iP5 hits.

Congratzzz for T-mo customers for official announcement on GS2. I’m still waiting for official from at&t.

    • Anonymous

AT&T GSII is coming out this Sunday (Oct. 2)

      • Anonymous

I heard that but at&t is keeping their mouth shut. No official statement from at&t……

      • Scott Duffy

Wow, have you not read BGR or Engadget in a while? It’s official from AT&T that it will be out this Sunday! Go back a page or two, news broke out around Wednesday or Thursday of last week. Or shit, google it man. Damn, it’s not that hard!

2 nice phones on one shitty carrier…too bad.

  • GinaDee

Great Android devices for those not interested in the meeToo phone.

Did I read that right?  OS 2.3.5 on the GS2?

  • Anonymous

  • Spider99Alien

On Telus it only lists the GSM bands, but on the T-Mobile site it lists
the same as gsmarena. Hopefully its the same as the T-Mobile version.
But I want the dark blue version instead of the white one.
