Samsung promises big announcement on September 1st [video]

Samsung has released two teaser videos that promise “something big” is coming during the IFA trade show in Berlin, which kicks off on September 1st. The videos are vague: one shows scenes by an ocean and the second has a number of people walking around with glowing objects in their hands. It is possible the clips are hinting at Samsung’s rumored Android Honeycomb Galaxy Tab device, which packs a 7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1024 x 600-pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel camera for video chats. Samsung unveiled the original 7-inch Galaxy Tab last year, so it’s entirely possible that an update will be announced on September 1st. But, some of the users are also holding the glowing objects up to their heads, which means a phone announcement is also likely in store. Thankfully we only have just over two weeks to find out what’s in store. Hit the jump for both videos.

    Good comments and conjectures guys.  But here’s the scoop. The glowing device is going to be Samsung’s newest phone running a pirated version of IOS, just to piss off Apple. The haters heads are going to explode.

    Actually, the teaser is intended to Apple – the device form is impossible to spot and Apple is not able to claim another IP lawsuit. :)  
    Something big probably means the long waited Samsung Galaxy Hercules with 4.5″ display (it could be also the Google Nexus 3, also known as Samsung Nexus Prime  with a 4.5″ Super AMOLED HD display) – it may come in the beginning of October, so September 1st is the right moment for announcement!

    …SAMSUNG makes the BEST SCREENS and SCREEN RESOLUTION is one of my main criteria when purchasing a phone. This is all about the GS2.So,just release the phone so i can purchase it and then ill be waiting for that 5′ monster with the SUPER AMOLED+ HD resolution. (NEXUS PRIME,GALAXY S3?)

    I know it’s wishful thinking…. but how about transparent screens?  Didn’t they show larger oled ones off at CES?  The video in which everyone is walking around without looking up seems to be a frowned upon activity nowadays…. unless you could see through the phone :-)
