Anyone know if the international versions of the Galaxy Tab have 3g compatible radios with either Tmobile or ATT? If they hadn’t disabled the phone calling on the device I’d buy one. Without it I don’t think they should be charging as much as they are. My .02.

If they sold this for $300 I’d be in. $600 is just ridiculous.

$600 is ridiculous. Looks like iPad is not going to face much competiton form the Galaxy

We had a demo unit here at work last week, thing is sweet but at $600 somebody has lost their damn mind. No way I’d ever pay close to that much for it.

How did it compare to the iPad in terms of responsiveness?

I can understand the $600 price, but at least offer a subsidized version for people who don’t mind having a contract. I would only get this from Verizon b/c of their network coverage, but $600 is certainly a deal breaker for me. I think what we want really is choice between contract vs no contract not one way or the other.

Anyone know if this thing will make phone calls?

    Google market – yes
    Other markets – yes
    Front camera – yes
    Removable storage – yes
    Apple arrogance – no

I got a micriSD card for $20 for my incredible.

I’m disappointed by the price, but not a show-stopper. But if any other tab comes out cheaper with the same features it will sell better.

Steve Jobs also reiterated in Apple’s earnings call yesterday what market knows already that the current version of Android is not optimized and thus not suitable for Tablets. That’s why LG cancelled it’s Tablet plans for now. Motorola/HTC are waiting in the wings for the same reason. This is a clear case of big companies like Verizon, AT&T and Samsung taking consumers for a ride. As a consumer, you really have to be stupid to buy Android in this form factor. Not yet at least. The Tablet optimized Android is not available until Mid-late 2011. This is a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT shaping up because Samsung knowingly is taking an inferior-yet- to-be-ready-open-source-OS and launching a new product without informing consumers that it’s not suitable for Galaxy Tablets. I will be surprised if this doesn’t happen soon…happy holidays!!!

happy to see an android tablet on the market and with verizon but they’ll lose on the price point alone, $600 and its got a smaller screen than the ipad and half the apps.. you’d think these companies would figure this out sooner or later… apparently not. i’ll wait for the notionInk Adam or some other, reasonably priced tablet.. when will companies using android figure out that consumers want TWO cameras (or one swivel mounted camera) on all devices now that apple has set the standard?

Other carriers will have it cheaper..known fact… :) Gotta love the globe.
