New HTC, full-QWERTY device destined for Verizon breaks cover

Hi there HTC Android fans, we have another present for you! We’ve just been sent in a handful of images of a new, unseen HTC handset that is destined for Verizon Wireless. This sleek, all-black, full-QWERTY Android 2.2 handset has all the makings of a flagship handset, including a 5 megapixel camera, micro-SD card slot, and SIM card for global roaming capabilities. The device has the model name ADR6325 and looks like it will be keeping the DROID 2 World Edition company in Verizon’s lineup. Kind of like we said back in August. What are you waiting for?! You know the other twelve images are beckoning you.

    When will some people understand that VZW won’t deploy front-facing camera phones until 4G is deployed??? 4G Smartphones won’t launch until early of next year.

    Front-facing cameras are data hogs, why do you think AT&T only allowed it via WiFi??? Sure there is a loop around it, but with 3G, it still sucks.

    I think this phone is better than the DROID2 minus the being Bing’d. The keyboard is the biggest positive. Not everyone wants a full touch screen phone.

    So what about Bing? You can download Google Maps via the Market and set Google as your homepage for the Browser. I doubt that a lot of people use the Google Search widget anyway.

      This phone highly likely was already developed by the time they decided to make that switch.

    I had just convinced myself to go get a droid incredible and stop waiting for new HTC hotness or a droid 2 world/pro.

    The turning point was the ability to flash it with a custom desire hd rom hybrid and get all kinds of new goodies (as thats the phone I want but its not on verizon right now).

    Anyone have some concrete spec info on this phone. If it truly is the same as a desire Z I’d pass… if it has a beefier processor etc. etc. I might be willing to wait a bit.

      although… just reading on another site that:

      “[this] chipset is the next gen of snap dragon. with a better CPU and GPU. They only clock things to 1ghz for marketing and to make ignorant techies excited. that processor will blow away the Droid Incredible and the Nexus one, or anything else running the old snap dragon.”

      so maybe it does outclass the incredible…

    Apparently it did not occur to the photographer that a phone has more than 2 sides to photograph.

    Wow did you pay attention that it’s got a new keyboard layout ! there is an indicator for the FN and CAPS touch ! EPIC plus it got arrows ( emulator love ! )

    But the camera interface is the old one, does it means that it got and old sense ?

      my only complaint is a lack of a microphone button. when using the physical keyboard you cannot use speech to text, and it’s a key they added to the droid2 that i really like.

    What happened to the 8mp camera, dual led flash and the kick stand. On the Verizion roadmap sheet it says the Merge has a 10mp camera. This model number does lines up with verizon screen capture of their inventory system. So is this the Merge or something else? I the 8mp phone also going to come out soon?

      Most 5mp phone cams beat out 8mp quality if you’ve been paying attention all year. NexusOne, iPhone4, Desire all 5mp beat out Evo, droidX who have 8mp. It’s all about the sensor my friend.

      The phone you are referring to is the “HTC Incrediblke HD”. It will be released the 4Q of 2010 once LTE (4G) has been deployed….BADASS PHONE!!!

    Apolgies for the rookie question guys. But since it has a sim card slot, does that mean you can buy it retail price and use it on tmousa 3g frequencies?.

      Verizon doesn’t use SIM cards.

        Verizon doesn’t use SIMS for its CDMA network. But the World Phones all have GSM as well as CDMA radios and you can use the SIM slots for GSM. Maybe 3G on GSM networks. However…they’re locked and have to be unlocked by Verizon.

      Got a storm 1 myself… can’t say I’m THAT angry about it.

      If I hated it as much as you I would have replaced it a while ago. Excited to replace it with a new droid (maybe this one)… but BB still has a place in the market.

    beats the droid 2 in looks thats for sure. and sense UI makes it better and bing is still pretty good i cant believe how many people say they wouldnt get this phone because of it.
