Please disregard my last post. I had copied and pasted some info in there as well as a quote from someone else that didn’t come up and also deleted a lot of what I typed.

How was I wrong? You obviously did not read the messages, because I wrote this message at 1am. Your message stating I was wrong was sent a lot later. Here is the quote I pulled from this list above your “wrong” comment. I know it is 624mhz and acknowledged I had it confused with something else. I told you it was 624mhz in another article a while ago … we had this same convo!

    “@JoeTour
BlackBerry Bold has a 624mhz Marvell Tavor PXA930 processor and the Tour has a 528mhz MSM7600″

For all you Big Red Customers who say this means nothing until it reaches Big Red, I give you the 1 fingered salute! ha

I can’t wait for this phone, no wifi ticks me off, but it is about time bell got something worth while for me to go and get, the storm interested me, but it was not worth it, this tour, this will carry me into 2011 then hopefully I’ll get Wifi.

Can we actually say which processor is faster the bold or this tour, clocks might be different, but there is so much more then just clock speed, as it stands the added addressable memory for the tour should make for a great device, I’m excited to see what sort of apps people start making now that they have all kinds of room to make them in.

    @JoeTour
    There is no confusion.
    Bold – Marvell Tavor PXA930 processor. (624Mhz)
    Tour – Qualcomm MSM7600 processor. (528Mhz)

    @ chris
As of now its your word vs. BG’s in the original review. Then again, it dosent necceserilly mean that you’r flat out wrong, but I remeber that convo back then, and it seemed as if this was settled on the 624. Now, I’d like to ask BG himself to address it.
    Will ya, ? Please.
    Thanks.

This s*hit sucks. Same BS OS. nothing new. RIM has been dishin out the same phone for a year now nd were hype about this? Sure the form factors of the bold, curve and this phone are a little different and one may have wifi while the one doesn’t or one may have 3g while the others don’t, but really ppl are they at all that diff? Your best bet is goin with a BOLD, it has everything you need.

The Tour will have everything I need, including the carrier I choose to be on. Your preferences are cleary different, and thats cool, but please don’t think what you would like to see on a phone is what everyone else wants to see on a phone.

    @ iamny

The bold is missing one thing I NEED CDMA coverage… GSM coverage is not very reliable in 2/3rds of the area I travel for work.

July 13 foe Verizon per Phone Arena.

  • hitdog

Well for one, for Verizon customers we don’t have a phone like this. We still have the old school Curve with runs Rev 0. This will run Rev A on VZW, which is faster internet.

Can’t answer the Q for other carriers, but for VZW customers this is a good upgrade from the 8330.

and you don’t need wifi if you have rev A net. I went from TMO to VZW. Had wifi with TMO, but don’t miss it with VZW’s faster internet. Yes a little slower, but not by too terribly much. It’s not a big deal.

Would I like to have wifi? yes. Is it a deal breaker on RevA? Nope.

i’m interested in getting the tour, but i don’t know much about phones. is wifi necessary if you have good 3G coverage? or do people want wifi mainly for when they’re not in an area with good service but have wifi available? sorry if this is a stupid question, i just don’t really understand.

  • Bard

I’d like to have WiFi, like for going out of the country, where I wouldn’t have to pay for WiFi use, but will have to pay extraordinary costs to use data on my phone.

  • Andreas

BBs are not useless to us working professionals.
    So back to your Latte.

Blackberry BOLD – 624 Mhz Processor – GSM – It has more but less options (carriers) when traveling.

Blackberry Tour – 528 Mhz Processor – GSM – Evdo – CDMA – It has alot more options for overseas carriers. Mostly likely to work when you travel.
