Everyone hates the 16GB iPhone 6s. Even people who buy it hate it. It’s not that the phone doesn’t perform as well as other iPhone models, it’s simply the principle of the matter. When Apple released the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in 2014, it doubled each of the mid-range and top-level memory tiers without charging customers any more money. So users were able to purchase a 64GB iPhone 6 for the same price as a 32GB iPhone 5s from the prior year, and a 128GB iPhone was the same price as a 64GB iPhone 5s. The entry-level model stayed at 16GB, though. This is still the case with the iPhone 6s and people are not happy.

The move was a great one for Apple’s bottom line, obviously, because it encourages more people to buy a mid-range model instead of the entry-level iPhone. Not everyone wants to spend $750 or $850 on a smartphone though, and now you don’t have to. T-Mobile has just made another big announcement and smartphone shoppers this holiday season are going to love it almost as much as AT&T hates it.

Beginning Friday, December 4th, T-Mobile will offer a special promotion that knocks $200 off the price of a 128GB iPhone 6s. The $200 will come in the form of a bill credit, which is just fine of course, and it will be paid within the first 90 days of service.

Here’s the part AT&T is going to hate: This offer applies to anyone switching from AT&T, Go Phone or Cricket Wireless to a T-Mobile Simple Choice postpaid plan.

“I can already hear AT&T customers asking ‘What’s the catch?’ And I don’t blame them—because with AT&T there’s always a catch,” T-Mobile’s outspoken CEO John Legere said. “But that’s not us. And this is our way of showing long-suffering AT&T customers exactly how the Un-carrier gives you more without asking more from you – with a sweet memory upgrade on the world’s most famous smartphone – and half-off the best accessories. It’s our gift to you.”

The offer will end on Sunday, December 13th, and T-Mobile has already put Verizon on notice by saying that it has a big promotion planned for Verizon switchers beginning next week. As for AT&T, the carrier already offers a similar promotion that gives users $100 to port a number over from any other carrier, including T-Mobile.

Updated with details on a similar promotion offered by AT&T.
