Here’s what Siri is going to look like on your Macbook

Siri Mac OS X 10.12 Leak

We’ve known for a while now that Apple might bring Siri to the Mac. It certainly feels like the next logical step, considering that Siri is already available on iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. The update is rumored to arrive later this year, and will be one of the main features of the upcoming OS X 10.12 update.

Even though we’ll have to wait for WWDC to see the full details, the first user interface elements for Siri for Mac have leaked, including the dock and menu bar icons.

The visual elements were shared with MacRumors by a source who provided reliable information in the past, so it’s a very believable leak. The dock icon is circular and features a colorful wave design, similar to what you see when you invoke Siri on other devices:

Meanwhile, the menu bar icon is a simple black and white “Siri” button placed after the search icon. Clicking either one will bring up a Siri waveform that will give you a cue that Siri is listening.

MacRumors says that you’ll be able to call upon Siri by using the hands-free “Hey Siri” command, just like on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6. That’s an opt-in feature, so you’ll have to enable it from the Preferences menu.

The Apple site says that Siri for Mac is still in the early stages of development, but the assistant will be able to offer you the same set of features available on iOS.

Assuming that Apple doesn’t decide to shelve the feature for the time being, it’s not unreasonable to expect a Siri for Mac demo at WWDC 2016, which takes place in mid-June in California.
