We all know that LG and Samsung will unveil the LG G5 and the Galaxy S7, respectively, during special media events scheduled for the weekend before MWC 2016 kicks off. At least unofficially, because neither company mentioned either handset in their initial teasers.
However, Samsung did confirm the Galaxy S7 edge product name in online developer documentation before removing it from its website, and LG followed through with a more daring revelation.

Tweeting from its LGUSAMobile handle, LG on Wednesday confirmed that the G5 is going to be launched on February 21st, a day ahead of MWC. Moreover, the phone will be unveiled during an event set for 2:00 p.m., local time, several hours ahead of Samsung’s presser.

LG posted the image above along with the message, but both the tweet and the picture were deleted from Twitter. However, Android Police managed to catch the message and the animation above before they were deleted.
Just like the Galaxy S7, the G5 was featured in plenty of leaks. One of the most interesting rumors says the handset will have a metal design that will feature a unique expansion port on the bottom, which will likely offer users access to the battery. If true, that’s certainly something other metal devices can’t offer, pleasing those Android users who are interested in user-replaceable batteries.
