A few weeks back, a rumor emerged claiming that Apple was planning to release a new Jet White color option to its iPhone 7 lineup. While details were predictably hazy, many people believed that Apple might introduce a white-colored iPhone 7 model just in time for the busy holiday shopping season.
With the Christmas shopping season now firmly behind us, the rumored white iPhone 7 is still nowhere to be seen. Of course, that hasn’t stopped folks fawning over actual physical mockups of what the mythical white iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus might look like.
In a video originally posted by Sonny Dickson — who we should point out has a history of releasing photos of unreleased products and components — we see rear iPhone panels which Dickson coyly implies are from the aforementioned Jet White iPhone 7.

Intriguing? Sure, but before you get too excited we should point out that this is likely nothing more than a third-party shell, as evidenced by the missing Apple logo cutout on the smaller device.
Still, the video does provide is with an interesting look as to what a Jet White iPhone 7 might look like. The glossy white finish is questionable on the Apple Watch, especially on a pricy “Edition” model, but it looks positively tremendous on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. In fact, some might say that a new color option like this would be a perfect complement to Apple’s new Jet Black finish.
Of course, the mockup above still pales in comparison to this ‘matte white’ iPhone 7 concept we came across earlier this year.
