When Apple’s new Jet Black finish quickly became the most talked-about and sought-after color for Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, it became fairly apparent that Samsung would eventually ape it. Well, as it turned out, Samsung didn’t take very long at all to follow Apple’s lead; the company released a Jet Black version — excuse us, “Black Pearl” version — of its Galaxy S7 in December, just three months after Apple debuted the Jet Black iPhone 7.

After Apple carried the industry away from black aluminum phones with the Space Gray iPhone 6 in 2014, it now seems clear that the company is moving the industry back towards black in 2016 and 2017. Following the release of Samsung’s Jet Black Galaxy S7 — err, Black Pearl Galaxy S7… why do we keep making that mistake?! — it now appears as though the company’s next-generation Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have a sleek black finish available as well. In fact, new photos of the black Galaxy S8 have leaked, and they give us our best look yet at Samsung’s upcoming new flagship Android phone.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are now officially the worst-kept secrets in consumer tech so far this year. Weeks of rumors led up to BGR’s exclusive leak of several photos of the next-generation Galaxy S8. Samsung didn’t want to unveil the Galaxy S8 during this year’s Mobile World Congress, so we did it instead. A series of leaked photos followed our exclusive, with one batch of clear images having leaked just yesterday.

The photos from Monday showed the Galaxy S8 in a clear case, though we still got a great view of what to expect from the upcoming new smartphone. Now, however, photos of a case-less Galaxy S8 in black have leaked for the first time, giving us our clearest look yet at Samsung’s upcoming new flagship Android handset.

The new photos were posted on Tuesday morning to Slashleaks by user Dimitri12, who has posted a number of authentic leaks in the past. The images are said to have been given to the user by a company that makes screen protectors for mobile devices, and they show the Galaxy S8 from several angles. One image, seen above, shows the Galaxy S8+ powered on with the always-on lock screen display feature in use, and it can be seen next to the smaller Galaxy S8.

Two more leaked photos follow below, but you can expect plenty more before Samsung unveils the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on March 29th. The phones are then expected to be released a month later on April 28th, a date that has been pushed back one week, according to a recent report.
