Free Wi-Fi Airport Map

One of the worst things about airports is that they don’t always offer free Wi-Fi service, and staying offline isn’t as fun when you have a bunch of hours to kill between flights, especially if you’re roaming or you don’t have enough data on your mobile plan. But if you’re a frequent flier and you travel the globe, then there’s a way around that. A travel blogger created a map that lists the Wi-Fi networks and passwords for dozens of airports around the world.

Anil Polat, who hopes to visit every country in the world, set up the map below which he updates frequently. As you can see, you only have to zoom in on a country and then click on an airport you want to check out. Wi-Fi data will pop out, including the name of the network and the password if one is required, and any other terms of use that may apply.

If the airport you’re traveling to/from isn’t listed on the map, it just means that Polat didn’t get any data about them. The bigger the airport, the more likely it is that someone is providing free internet, whether it’s the airport authority, a local McDonalds, or any other type of store.

While free Wi-Fi is great, you should also remember that free Wi-Fi isn’t always secure. So you might consider using a VPN to try to protect your privacy.

Polat’s map is also available in app version in the App Store, Google Play, and on Amazon.
