Obama State Of The Union

On Tuesday night, President Barack Obama will deliver one of his customary State of the Union addresses. But this one will be slightly different from speeches the president typically gives, and not simply because it will be streamed by additional services including Amazon Instant Video. Tonight’s State of the Union will be the last one delivered by President Obama, whose second term in the oval office will come to an end early next year.

President Obama is expected to cover a wide range of topics in Tuesday night’s address, including ISIS and recent terrorist attacks around the globe, cyber security and the current presidential race that will ultimately see his successor elected. Obama is also expected to recount the past few years of his presidency, which have certainly had quite a few ups and downs.

“When President Obama took office seven years ago, we were involved in two wars, losing over 800,000 jobs a month, and weathering the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. But, with his leadership and the determination of the American people, we have made extraordinary progress on the path to a stronger country and a brighter future,” The White House website said on a special page dedicated to Tuesday night’s State of the Union address.

The site continued, “We’ve proven that, together, we can overcome great challenges. In his last State of the Union, President Obama will lay out the ways that we, as the American people, can once again come together in pursuit of a country worthy of generations to come.”

Obama’s final State of the Union address is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. EST / 6:00 p.m. PST, and you can watch the entire thing from start to finish in the video embedded below.
