Cortana is swiftly proving to be the most adamant sports fan of the mobile virtual assistants. First it was soccer score predictions during the World Cup — now Microsoft has updated Cortana once again to predict the outcome of every NFL game this season. In order to get a prediction from Cortana, simply ask “Who will win Team A or Team B?” (with your teams of choice in place) and Cortana will provide an answer.

FROM EARLIER: Cortana makes fun of Siri in brand new TV commercial

Microsoft has been at Apple’s throat lately as the battle of the virtual assistants rages onward. While Microsoft continues to pour resources into Cortana, Apple has been all but silent in regards to Siri since the release of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

A feature that was once given the spotlight has been, at least temporarily, put on the back burner while Apple focuses on new product releases. That’s not to say Siri isn’t in for a major overhaul along with the new iPhone, but we haven’t heard anything substantial yet.

As for Cortana, Microsoft is reported looking to bring its assistant to the desktop when Windows 9 launches early next year. We should know for sure within the month when Microsoft releases the Windows 9 technical preview to the public.
