You can now watch some of Showtime’s best pilots for free on YouTube

We live in an era where every other premium cable channel lives in the shadow of the behemoth that is HBO. It’s not that there isn’t compelling content outside of the Game of Thrones network, but none of it is attracted the attention of HBO’s must-watch lineup.

That exactly’s why Showtime is putting its best foot forward by uploading full episodes of its most popular shows to YouTube.

Without much fanfare, Showtime shared five pilots on YouTube this week, including Homeland, Dexter and Ray Donovan. Just a few months ago, Showtime launched its own standalone streaming service, following in the footsteps of its biggest rival. By giving everyone a taste of the lineup for free, Showtime must be hoping to convince viewers to at least give the service a shot.

If you like what you see, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial. After that the service will run you $10.99 a month.
