It’s not surprising to see social media activity exploded during key moments of Sunday’s Super Bowl but it’s still cool to see just how much Twitter blew up at the end of the game.

An awesome grpahic posted over at Cartodb.com tracked Twitter mentions of the Patriots and Seahawks last night and it really shows how much activity surged during touchdowns and other important moments.

Here, for example, are mentions of the Seahawks blowing up right at their first touchdown.

Similarly, we see mentions of the Patriots light up the board right after their go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.

And then when Patroits cornerback Malcolm Butler sealed the game with an interception in the end zone, all hell broke loose.

For comparison’s sake, here’s what Super Bowl-related Twitter activity looked like during comparative downtime.
