The Wii U’s latest savior game finally has a release date

Super Smash Bros For Wii U Release Date

Nintendo announced on Tuesday that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the home console companion to the portable entry which released last week, will finally be available in the United States on November 21st. The highly anticipated brawler will then make its way to Europe two weeks later on December 5th. It took longer than many fans (and bloggers) had expected to reveal the date, but it looks like Nintendo is still on track.

November 21st also marks the day that the first Amiibo figures will go on sale. The first wave will include 12 figures: Mario, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Peach, Marth, Yoshi, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer. The second wave will land in December, featuring Diddy Kong, Zelda, Luigi, Captain Falcon, Pit and Little Mac. Each figure will retail for $12.99.

The Amiibo figures will eventually be compatible with a wide range of games, but Super Smash Bros. is the first. Players will be able to sit the figures on their NFC-enabled Wii U controllers in order to sync them with their games and then level up their figures and customize their abilities. All the progress made with the figure will carry over, even on a friend’s console.

Nintendo also revealed that its controller adaptor for GameCube controllers will be compatible with the popular WaveBird wireless controller. The adaptor will cost $19.99 when it launches alongside the game.
