Sprint just became the best carrier in the world for music fans

April 29th, 2014 at 11:26 AM
Sprint Spotify Six Month Trial

Sprint has struggled to keep up recently as it’s faced major pressure from T-Mobile’s “Uncarrier” campaign and its own “Framily” campaign has been flat-out frightening at times. That said, Sprint may have finally come up with a way to lure some new subscribers on Tuesday as it announced that starting on May 9th, both new and existing customers who subscribe to its “Framily” plans will get a free six-month trial of music streaming service Spotify.

This could be potentially terrific on Sprint’s network since the carrier offers unlimited smartphone data plans where there’s no risk of getting slapped with overage fees if you listen to too many songs. After the six-month trial ends, subscribers who have “Framilies” of between 1 and 5 people will get access to Spotify’s premium service for an extra $7.99 per month, while subscribers with “Framilies” of between 6 and 10 people will be able to get it for just $4.99 per month.

Sprint also announced that it’s offering its customers an exclusive new version of the HTC One (M8) that will be able to play lossless FLAC files and will come with a free pair of Harman Kardon earbuds. In other words, if you’re an audiophile who absolutely has to have the best sound available on your smartphone then you should consider checking out Sprint in the near future… provided you can stomach being part of a “Framily” plan.
