Samsung’s creepy new ad ditches iPhone bashing, turns to nightmare-inducing memes [video]

Samsung (005930) seemed to hit its stride with a series of ads that bashed Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone and the legions of consumers who line up for it each year, but the company is trying something new to pitch one of its latest solid state drives: nightmare-inducing memes. Samsung’s new ad for the SSD 840 taps Web celebrity Laina Morris of “Overly Attached Girlfriend” fame, and while we’re not sure Samsung will sell any laptop drives with this new spot, it will definitely leave a lasting impression. Nothing we can write here will prepare you for what you are about to see — the full ad is embedded below.
