Microsoft (MSFT) will reportedly launch an Office 2010 to 2013 upgrade program as early as next month, according to ZDNet. The program will be similar to what the company has offered alongside new Windows PCs, allowing users to buy the current software and upgrade to the next version for free or at a discounted price. According to ZDNet’s sources, Microsoft will offer users who purchase Office 2010 between October 19th and April 30th 2013 a guaranteed upgrade to Office 2013 once it is made available. Office 2013 is rumored to be released to Microsoft’s manufacturing partners in November, with general availability expected in early 2013. A Microsoft spokesperson declined to comment.
