Motorola's Ed ZNDR gets RAZRed and thrown to the PEBLs

This one has been in the works for a while, so you won’t catch anyone sporting a surprised look on their face. Motorola has announced that current CEO, Ed Zander, will be replaced by Gregory Q. Brown. Zander, who has been with the company since 2003, and ushered Moto through the “RAZR era” with incredible success, but has recently fallen under fire for failing to adapt to a rapidly changing market place. Zander will continue on as CEO until next May, when he will step down to assume a non-officer role as a “strategic advisor” through January, 2009. Brown comes to Moto by way of Microsoft and, most recently, Symbol Technologies. Motorola has been begging for change for quite some time now, so let’s hope this serves as the shot in the arm that they so desperately need.
