One month ahead of the game’s release, Nintendo has unleashed its latest extensive Direct focused entirely on Mario Kart 8. Alongside the game’s release on May 30th, Nintendo will release a Mario Kart 8 Wii U Bundle, containing a Wii U Deluxe Set, red Mario Wii Wheel, Mario Wii Remote Plus and the game for $329.99. If you register the game on your Club Nintendo account before July 31st, you’ll also receive your choice of a free Wii U game: New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD or Wii Party U.

Nintendo also announced that Mario Kart 8 will feature 12-player online races in four separate modes: Worldwide, Regional, Friends and Tournaments. You’ll be able to speak with your racing companions in the lobby before any match using the microphone on the Wii U GamePad.

If you want to show off your proudest moments, Mario Kart TV is about to be your new favorite feature. MKTV allows you to view your highlight reels, rewind footage and play clips back in slow-motion. You can also upload your best clips and download clips from your friends.

And of course, a Nintendo event wouldn’t be complete without character reveals. Both Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach will be joining the circuit this year, two interesting variations on the established Mario princesses.
